Company Milestones
1988
Chris Ettel founded what was then VB Contractors, constructing his first single-family home in the Croatan neighborhood of Virginia Beach.1996
Southern Living Magazine selected VB Contractors to construct a show home in Virginia Beach and invited the company to be a member of their Custom Home Program. Chris Ettel was then invited to be on the advisory board of their Custom Home Program.2000
VB Contractors opened their first design center at 3502 Pacific Avenue and was recognized by The Virginian-Pilot for the unique “one-stop shopping experience” that allowed clients to visualize kitchens, baths, appliances, flooring, moldings, etc. in a residential home setting.2005
VB Contractors was recognized by Professional Builder magazine as the 18th “Best Builder to Work For” in the country.2006
VB Contractors was recognized by Remodeling Magazine as one of the “Top 50 Remodeling Companies in the Country.”2008
Changing the name to VB Homes, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary and moved to the current state-of-the-art design center at 1209 Laskin Road.2010’s
VB Homes continues to add to the list of satisfied homeowners with award-winning projects and Chris Ettel’s children join the family business to continue the legacy of VB Homes.Present
In 2023, VB Homes celebrates 35 years in business with a brand refresh and ever expanding portfolio of new homes, remodels, and projects.Future
